The 2015 Seminole compact gives exclusive right to the tribe to offer banked card games (Blackjack). The State has authorized all other cardrooms the ability to offer designated-player games. In July 2016, an administrative law judge agreed that a proposed DBPR rule change regarding designated-player games was not allowed. However, in August 2016 another administrative hearing ruling determined that a Jacksonville cardroom designated-player game was a violation of the gambling laws of Florida. What gives? Hear the cardroom side of the story and participate in a demonstration of the differences between banked and designated-player card games.
